Michal Šlais
My name is Michal Šlais. I was born on December, 2010 in the Czech Republic. I study at Gymnazium Brno, tř. Kapitána Jaroše. I love to play the violin, viola and piano. My hobbies include judo, parkour, English and German. I love music. I study composition at ZUŠ Orchidea, Brno. Composing gives me the opportunity to show how I feel and see the world around.
I have succeeded in the following Competitions:
- Gold prize - ZUŠ ČR 2025/2026 - cat. IV, composition (advanced to final round)
- 1st place - The 2023 -2025 EPSMF OM/NI string competition for young composers (junior division)
- Silver prize - Composers Contest 2025 XIII. Múzy I. Hurníka - cat. IV., composition
- Participant of the annual MenART scholarship program 2024/2025 - led by Beata Hlavenková - composition
- Special prize, cat. Junior – INTERNATIONAL COMPOSERS COMPETITION "Artistes en Herbe" Luxembourg 2025
- Gold prize - Antonín Dvořák mladým 2024 - cat. 2.a, chamber music (violin)
- Silver prize - Antonín Dvořák mladým 2024 - composition
- Gold prize - Composers Contest 2024 XII. Múzy I. Hurníka - cat. III., composition
- Gold and Silver prize – ZUŠ ČR 2022/2023 – cat. III., composition
- 1st prize – MŠMT ČR 2022/2023 – cat. III., chamber music (violin)
- “Elephants and a Fly” was selected in Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame 2022, played by cellist Frantisek Brikcius on Youtube.
- 1st Foshan Composers Contest 2022 in China (a total of 62 compositions from all over the world; 26 nationalities from all the 6 continents) my composition for orchestra reached the 2nd round (together with 22 other works)

- Final round – Zlatý oříšek 2021 – composition
